Fabulous Forgeries: An Art Happening

Our client was an art lover, and what art lover hasn't dreamed of the paintings they would love to own if only they could? We are artists, and what artist hasn't gazed at another artist's painting and thought: how would I have painted that if only I had? It was a perfect partnership: our client had an event tedazhat showed off an "art collection", and we had the chance to paint some of our favorite paintings. Forty-five forgeries of O'Keefe, Picasso, Matisse, Harring, Lichtenstein, Gustin, Mondrian, Dine, Warhol, Hockney, Leger, Stella, Avery, de Kooning, Motherwell, Hoffman, Rothko, Natkin, Bosquiat, Klee, Kirchner, Schnabel, Youngerman, and Stills hung from backdrops of neutral, freestanding boards. Placed in front of these were over 50 black, life-size cutouts of people: visitors to the exhibition that stood in front of various paintings pointing to them, contemplating them, trying to understand them. Beside each forgery was a photograph of the original painting. This ran along the entire perimeter of the venue, and our client's guests joined the silhouette cutouts to circle the room and look at the paintings.
