Carnival in Venice
This theme involved thorough research to give it the authenticity our client requested for their annual fund-raising benefit.
The venue was the grand ballroom of the Ritz Carlton Hotel, a 5-star resort hotel.
For this large space, we created an architectural impression of St.Mark's Cathedral,
and recreated friezes based on the original ones found in St.Mark's.
This set ran for 52ft along one wall of the venue.
Other sets reproduced the Doze's Palace (80ft long) ,
the Grand Canal (55ft long) with bridges arching over it,
other palaces, and the Rialto Hotel.
Life size gondolas and gondoliers were placed in the foreground
of these sets along with statues.
To bring the Carnival in Venice theme to life, costumed, giant-size cutout revelers
wandered in front of the various sets and mingled with our client's guests.
